The Fundamentals of Rewiring Trauma

A 5-Day CET for Yoga Teachers of Any Asana Style or Lineage

  • Has your yoga class ever brought up a student's trauma from a past experience? Do you worry that you are encouraging students to feel emotions and trauma without fully understanding how to support them? *****An understanding of trauma patterns and the ability to teach trauma-informed yoga is increasingly critical for yoga teachers*****

  • Learn tools to effectively work with your students' emotional & physical trauma, including addiction & sexual abuse.

  • Understand the science of holding space, including: how to grieve and feel with your students, without taking trauma on yourself; how to be an empowered empath; Winnicott's "capacity for concern"; how to protect yourself in a trauma-based environment.

  • Understand the three stages of recovery and how to integrate into a trauma-based teaching environment

  • Learn to sequence and cue a trauma-informed yoga class. What are some dos and don'ts so we maintain a space that is sensitive to different traumas?

  • Each day will begin with a 2.5 hour practice of asana, ceremony and meditation. Practices will be focused around working with your own trauma so you will better understand how to effectively work with your students' needs.

  • This training is open to any teacher who has completed a 200hr TT with any yoga school. [Advanced practitioners and professionals in other healing environments, please email [email protected] if you are interested in participating.]
