Your movement begins at the ground.
Every step, every transition, every posture carries information from your feet through the entire system.
This workshop shows how the position and function of your feet directly influence your hips, spine, and even your jaw.
Small changes at the base create measurable changes throughout the body.
What You Will Learn
You will work with clear, practical biomechanics that you can feel immediately.
How pronation and supination influence hip rotation and pelvic position
How foot mechanics affect spinal organisation and jaw tension
How to use your bodyweight to restore control through the feet
How to strengthen foot function using load
How to apply these changes directly into yoga practice
This is more than theory. You will test, feel, and refine in real time.
Workshop Structure
Part 1️⃣ – Assessment and Development
You will begin by exploring how your feet currently function.
Test pronation and supination and observe changes in hips and jaw
Identify where movement becomes restricted or excessive
Learn bodyweight drills to access and control both patterns
Use load to strengthen and stabilise foot mechanics
You will leave this section with a clear understanding of how your feet drive your movement.
Part 2️⃣ – Application to Yoga
You will then apply this directly into practice.
Refine standing postures through foot driven alignment
Improve balance using controlled pronation and supination
Connect foot mechanics into transitions and flow
Build sequences that reinforce efficient movement patterns
This section translates biomechanics into something you can use immediately in your classes or personal practice.
Part 3️⃣ – Hands On Assessment and Release
You will work in pairs to improve foot and ankle function.
Muscle testing to assess foot and ankle performance
Myofascial release for plantar fascia, calves, and lateral chain
Joint based techniques to improve ankle mobility
You will leave with simple, repeatable methods that support long term change.
